Why Should You Use Natural Ways to Dye Your Hair?
Why not? Women used natural methods for centuries and had beautiful, healthy, and nourished hair. On the other hand, cosmetic products can sometimes harm the hair, although they are tested or approved.
Chemicals in hair products can be linked to many harmful effects. Scientists argue that these chemicals can cause severe allergic reactions, and various respiratory and skin problems and disorders. The harmful chemicals include resorcinol, ammonia, peroxide, and PPD and the last one is said to damage the DNA of human cells and cause allergic reactions.
Some researchers have shown that those who use hair dye often can suffer from skin inflammations and be at risk of developing leukemia, multiple myeloma, and Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
Let us see what methods you can use and what color you can create.
What Results Can Honey Achieve?
Honey is one of nature’s best products ever. It has been used for centuries as a protector of our health due to its extraordinary health-related benefits.
When it comes to hair, honey can help you achieve a lighter shade of your hair; it bleaches your hair naturally.
Honey and yogurt are the ingredients you will need for the best results. Mix it, with enough yogurts to make honey non-sticky. Apply it on the hair and leave it for two hours. The results will be the best after 3 to 4 treatments. This natural hair dye one can use once a week.
What Can Lemons Do? Highlight Hair?
Lemons are great antioxidant fruits, and due to the vitamin C, one should be at ease when it comes to the overall protection of the hair and scalp.
Lemons are used for hair lightning, they are natural bleaches, and the results are even better when you expose your lemon treated hair to the sunlight. The lemon is great because even your roots will add depth to the new color.
This treatment varies according to your hair type. For normal hair, you should mix lemon juice (for one cup, you will need four lemons) and ¼ of a cup of warm water. For dry hair, you should mix lemon juice and ¼ of a cup of conditioner. As for the rest of the treatments, it is the same for both hair types. When you mix it, pour it into a spray bottle and spray it on your hair until your hair is a dump. The best results will be if you spray it on unwashed hair.
After that, sit out in the sun for one to two hours, take a shower, and apply the hair conditioner because citric acid can be very drying. Repeat the process weekly until you achieve the expected results.
For dry hair, rub the mixture with your hands and use a comb to spread the lemon and conditioner through your hair.
Can Chamomile Tea Help Your Hair?
Chamomile is one of the oldest remedies in human history. On the other hand, chamomile is probably the cheapest hair dye one can get.
This plant is used as an effective dye for hair darkening.
For the treatment, you should boil a quarter of water and add dried chamomile flowers (1/2 of the cup). Leave it to boil for 30 minutes and place a cover over the pot while boiling. Let the chamomile mixture cool to touchable temperature and use cheesecloth to pour it in the jar. Wash your hair as usual and let it dry with a towel. Pour the mixture over your hair for 15 to 20 times, catching the excess in the bowl to reuse it each time. Wrap your hair in a towel and wait for at least 30 minutes before rinsing it out.
How Can You Use (Black) Walnuts to Dye Your Hair?
This treatment is one of the most powerful methods of natural hair dye. One can use either walnut powder or walnut hulls.
For hulls, you need to crush them and cover them with boiling water to “soak” for three days. For powder, boil water, pour a couple of tablespoons in it and let the mixture steep for a few hours. If one prefers a darker color, soak or steep it longer. Apply the mixture on your hair and leave it for 20 minutes. Rinse it and you will have a beautiful dark color.
Spices For Hair – Can Turmeric Help?
Golden spice is, in general, great for hair health. The one compound that has the most benefits for many health problems is curcumin.
Combine turmeric with other yellow-flowered herbs such as calendula or chamomile, and boil the mixture. When it cools down, pour it over your hair 15 to 20 times.
Turmeric is also great for scalp health and dandruff.
Black and Sage Tea – What Will You Get From It?
Black tea is excellent for brown-haired women – it acts as a stain to darken your hair. Boil the water with three tea bags, allow it to boil for 3 to 5 minutes and let it cool down. After you shampoo your hair and towel dry, pour the tea over and through hair. You can either rinse it or let it stay for about an hour.
Sage leaves and sage tea bags are one of the oldest techniques for coloring darker hair and for covering gray hair. Boil the water with dried herbs or tea bags for an hour or longer (depending on the desired shade). Let the mixture cool down and pour it over your hair.
Sage is excellent because it helps open up the hair follicles and allows better color retention.
Remember that the more tea you use, the more intense the color will be.
What Can Beet and Carrot Juice Do for Your Hair?
If you are a natural redhead, this technique can boost your color. If you are blonde, this treatment can create more of a strawberry blonde shade.
Mix ½ of a cup of each juice and a few teaspoons of sugar, and warm the juice slightly to activate the essential compounds in it. This mixture should be applied to damp, if possible warm hair. Dip your hair in it, and cover all the roots. Use gloves or spoons.
To prevent staining, use Vaseline on your ears and hairline. Leave the mixture for one hour while sitting in direct sunlight, and wash it with your usual shampoo.
You can use this as often as you like.
Piece Of Advice
Before applying natural hair dyes, make sure your hair is clean and without any products. If you are not sure what the result would be, test it on a small strand of your hair and see what the outcome is.
Keep in mind that for the intense color, one should dye the hair at least 2 times. Most of these hair dyes have immediate results.
Try some of the natural hair dyes and enjoy your new color.
