Alcohol is diuretic, and it pushes liquids out of the body. When drinking a lot, the body will draw water from any available sources in the organism, including brain, thus the headache is one of the first symptoms. Drinking water before going to bed can prevent some nasty headaches; moreover, drinking water the next day will be also very beneficial.

Remember: Drinking a lot of water without any electrolytes can lead to a condition known as water intoxication, which is potentially fatal.

 

Peppermint and ginger tea are one of the best herbal teas that help ease the hangover. Peppermint tea ease stomach pain and decrease nausea (well-known morning sickness remedy for pregnant women), while ginger tea reduces the motion sickness. Ginger is a natural painkiller and an antioxidant.

Pickle juice, being sour and salty, replenishes electrolytes and sodium levels in the body. Drinking 2 ounces in the morning can help you ease the nausea and overall feeling of tiredness and exhaustion.

Sport drinks and coconut water can help restore electrolytes levels as well. If you have to choose between sport drinks and coconut water, opt for the coconut – this drink has five of the electrolytes found in the human body.

Apple or cranberry juice can help with the recovery process. The fructose gives the body the energy very fast, and boost metabolism, thus help get rid of those alcohol toxins.

Tomato juice contains lycopene, an antioxidant that reduces the inflammation in the body. Due to the vitamin C and fructose, tomato juices are great liver—boosting drinks.

 

What Foods Help Us With Fast Recovery?

Chicken noodle soup can restore the level of sodium and water. Chicken and other vegetables contain cysteine, which helps liver recover the energy.

Although it may be the last thing you want to eat, Miso soup is a great morning remedy that boosts sodium levels and rehydrates the body quickly. Miso soup also helps with digestion.

Curing A Hangover With Vitamins And Exercising

High doses of vitamins (Vitamin C and B vitamins) can be beneficial in the morning. An excess alcohol intake also flushes out the vitamins from the body, so we need to restore the optimum level.

Although the hardest of the hangover cures, mild exercising like yoga, or walking, helps get rid of those toxins in the body faster. Before exercising, make sure your body restored the adequate level of electrolytes and that is well hydrated.
