When the crisp and cool fall air blows, your skin needs special attention. Protect your skin in these colder months by just following some simple skin care tips. Here are some of the most popular skin care tips for fall.

1. Reassess Your Skin Cleanser
Many of us love to use gel-based cleansers in the summer. These cleansers keep your skin free of oil. However, your skin doesn’t need a similar cleanser in colder months. In fact, you should use a hydrating creamy cleanser for your skin in the fall and winter. Similarly, you can change your shower gel to shower cream or milk bath for fall.
2. Stay Hydrated
Whether it is summer or fall, your skin needs hydration at all time. You should drink at least five 8-Oz. glasses of water regularly. As the dry air of fall dries your skin, hydration is essential to keep your skin hydrated.
3. Try an Oil-Based Scrub
Exfoliating is very important as it helps your skin to get rid of dead cells. Also, it will improve your skin as it brings healthier cells to the surface of your skin. Use an oil-based scrub instead of a salt scrub to protect your skin in the fall season. Avoid massaging your skin vigorously when exfoliating your skin.

4. Use Gentle Soap
Soaps usually dry out the skin by absorbing moisture and oil from it. Try using natural soaps made from natural oil, plant-based ingredients, and glycerin. These products can help protect your skin in colder days.
5. Moisturize
Of course, it is essential to moisturize your skin more often in colder months. Use cream moisturizers as these products nourish your skin in a better way and offer your skin an adequate hydration. Always apply a cream moisturizer after every shower.
6. Apply Sunscreen
You may think sun is not harsh in the fall seasons. The fact is your skin can be heavily damaged by the harmful UVA and UVB rays even in fall and winter. Thus, try protecting your skin by using a good sun block or sunscreen lotion.
7. Use Lip Balm
It’s good to use a lip balm with SPF as it will protect your lip from the sun, wind, and cold. Usually, the lip skin becomes chapped in colder months. By using a lip balm, you can easily avoid dry and chapped lips.

8. Drink tea
Tea is very good for your skin. Drink at least a cup of green tea or Japanese sake everyday. These drinks provide a lot of antioxidants to your skin and help it to fight free radicals.
9. Analyze your skin
When the seasons change, your skin may show slight changes that you may not notice. You must consider analyzing your skin from time to time. In this way, it will become easier for you to maintain and protect your skin.
10. Use Creamy Foundation
If you typically use liquid foundation, consider switching to a creamy one in winter. This is because these creamy foundation formulas will hydrate and moisturize your skin in winter and fall.
11. Use Cuticle Oil
Dry cuticles are one major problem in fall and winter. To avoid dry cuticles, you may consider massaging your skin with any good cuticle oil on a regular basis. This will help you to avoid cracked skin in the cold months. All you need to do is simply rub the oil on your skin and massage it thoroughly. By following these simple skin care tips, you can easily maintain your skin all throughout the fall season.

Maybe I’m getting old, but my lips tend to dry up so badly to the extent of cracking that it hurts to even open my mouth towards autumn. I’d normally get a lip balm ready by the end of summer otherwise it’d be too painful to even talk to anyone.

I always see many people’s skin visibly drying up during this season, and I’ve heard they mostly continue to use only their gel-based cleansers throughout the year. Many people do not realize the importance of using a separate cleanser for fall, and it takes a bit more effort to maintain it during the year ends.

Maintaining your skin during fall may be quite a challenge because the weather is so dry, but with if you are willing to put in some effort, then it’s definitely possible to to maintain a radiant skin. I apply cuticle oil consistently, and my skin remains supple even if I forget to moisturize it occasionally in fall as it is already conditioned well.

I also notice my skin often dries up really quickly in the colder seasons, especially when it approaches fall, forcing me to moisturize myself much more often than I usually do. It may cost me a little more time, effort, and money, but I think it’s worth all the trouble to maintain my skin in good condition and to literally feel good.

For me moving from a dry climate to a humid one and then back to a dry one has destroyed my skin. Although a lot of my problems are self inflicted since I didn’t probably hydrate myself before and now that I am I have seen a big difference. Along with those other steps it has helped me with a permanent solution to my skin irritations.

Hydrating is so important for this season, the more we drink, the more the skin becomes radiant. Herbal tea is helpful for our health and skin. So, lots of fluid is essential for our skin nourishment.

Removing dead cells applying a good scrub is very important. I always choose different scrub and facial kit for different seasons. Well, in winter we need to moisturize a lot, as the season gradually becomes dry.

Don’t expose so much in cold seasons, not even your hands. Wear a good quality gloves. If wool is not your choice, then wear cotton based. It helps our hands to remain warm.

Wow! Superb useful article. For winter I always maintain a special routine for my skin and hair. I particularly love to relax while having a oil bath. It soothes me and my skin. I prefer almond oil and jojoba oil.

Chapped lip is a big problem of this falling season. So, I always carry strawberry flavored lip balm in my bag whenever I’m out. Lip balm with SPF mentioned here, must be useful.
